Kazakhstan accounts for nearly half of Russia's pet food export growthKazakhstan accounted for nearly half of Russia's overall growth in pet food exports during the first seven months of 2026, with sales surging by $14.7 million to more than $34 million, according to estimates from federal agriculture export center Agroexport.Kazakhstan was Russia's second-largest buyer of dog and cat food after Belarus, accounting for roughly 40% of the $39 million total increase in Russian export revenue during the January-July period.Belarus remained the top importer, purchasing more than $96 million worth of Russian pet food, followed by Kazakhstan at over $34 million, Uzbekistan at more than $6.5 million, Azerbaijan at about $4 million and Kyrgyzstan at over $3.5 million.Agroexport noted that export revenue for pet food during the seven-month period set a record for that timeframe, surpassing the previous high of just over $113 million set in 2025.
