UKRAINE: CONTINUED EXPANSION IN PASTA IMPORTS WITH ITALY REMAINING THE DOMINANT SUPPLIER IN THE FIRST SEVEN MONTHS OF 2026

In January-July 2026, Ukraine imported €32.61 million worth of pasta products, marking an 8.52% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Italy remained the leading supplier, with exports totaling €17.57 million, accounting for 53.87% of Ukraine’s pasta imports. Although Italian exports increased by 0.47% year-on-year, Italy’s dominant position in the market remains unchallenged. Poland continued to demonstrate strong growth momentum, with exports rising by 25.27% to €4.17 million, increasing its market share to 12.8%. Turkey held third place, delivering €3.15 million, reflecting a 5.1% increase and capturing 9.67% of the market. Among the fastest-growing suppliers, South Korea more than doubled its exports, which surged by 156.17% to €2.21 million, raising its market share to 6.78%. China also strengthened its position, with exports increasing by 42.32% to €1.46 million and a market share of 4.48%. Overall, Ukraine’s pasta import market in the first seven months of 2026 demonstrated continued growth and increasing diversification. Italy remains the clear market leader, while Poland, Turkey, and rapidly expanding Asian suppliers, particularly South Korea and China, are steadily strengthening their positions. (ICE KIEV)
