Tokayev proposes 'pilot industrial consortiums' for SCO membersPresident Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed that Shanghai Cooperation Organization members introduce a mechanism for pilot industrial consortiums to speed up joint projects."We propose introducing a mechanism for pilot industrial consortiums that would allow member states to launch projects as they become ready, without waiting for all participants to join," Tokayev said at the SCO summit in Bishkek, according to his press service. "Successful initiatives could then be scaled across the organization."Tokayev also suggested launching SCO cross-border trade zones based on existing border cooperation centers."This would allow us to test simplified trade flows, digital procedures and modern settlement mechanisms," he said.
