Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM), has signed a non-binding term sheet with PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) and PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) to explore strategic investments in Indonesia’s commercial electric vehicle (EV) sector, particularly electric buses and trucks. The initiative aims to accelerate the development of a national commercial EV ecosystem and supports Indonesia’s broader energy transition, emissions reduction, and industrial downstreaming goals. The partnership will promote a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) model to make commercial EV adoption easier by improving access to financing and helping fleet operators switch to electric vehicles. It also seeks to strengthen Indonesia’s battery value chain and support critical mineral downstream industries.
