LITHUANIA TO ALLOCATE €20 MILLION FOR GREEN ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE IN FREE ECONOM IC ZONES

The Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation has approved the “LEZ Green Industrial Park” state aid scheme, under which up to €20 million will be allocated for the development of sustainable and efficient energy infrastructure in Lithuania’s free economic zones. The measure is aimed at creating shared energy infrastructure in FEZ territories, rather than modernising the production processes of individual companies. Funding will support the installation of solar power plants, battery energy storage systems, ice-based energy storage solutions, waste heat recovery and reuse facilities, as well as infrastructure for the production, storage and distribution of heat and cooling.Projects eligible for funding will be selected through a call for proposals. Applications may be submitted by FEZ management companies and potential project partners, including utility companies and centralised heat production and supply companies. Depending on the activity and company size, state aid may cover between 30% and 65% of eligible expenses. (ICE VARSAVIA)
