INDONESIA PROMOTES REGULATION REFORM TO SPUR INVESTMENT
Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Finance, Juda Agung, emphasized at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting that pro-growth reforms should focus on reducing barriers to business and investment, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting innovation and technology adoption. He highlighted Indonesia’s efforts to streamline regulations, strengthen the financial sector through the Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law (UU P2SK), and accelerate economic transformation through downstream natural resource processing and the development of higher value-added industries. Juda also noted the importance of improving state-owned enterprise governance through institutional restructuring to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. He stressed that artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can boost productivity, provided they are supported by adequate infrastructure, skilled human resources, and a strong digital ecosystem. Additionally, he underscored the vital role of the private sector in driving investment, innovation, job creation, and productivity, stating that business input is essential to ensure reforms translate into tangible economic growth and improved public welfare.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2703108/indonesia-promotes-regulation-reform-to-spur-investment (ICE GIACARTA)
