UKRAINE: CONTINUED GROWTH AND DIVERSIFICATION IN BAKERY AND BISCUIT IMPORTS IN THE FIRST SEVEN MONTHS OF 2026

In January-July 2026, Ukraine imported €89.98 million worth of bakery, pastry, and biscuit products, reflecting a strong 13.68% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Poland maintained its lead as the top supplier, exporting €30.78 million and securing a 34.2% market share, with growth of 15.41%. Germany ranked second, delivering €8.27 million and recording a 5.87% increase, corresponding to a 9.19% market share. Romania continued to post strong gains, expanding exports by 68.19% to €7.81 million and raising its market share to 8.68%. The Netherlands remained among the leading suppliers, exporting €7.18 million worth of products and increasing shipments by 15.83%, reaching a 7.99% market share. Bulgaria also showed notable momentum, with exports growing by 25.82% to €6.81 million and accounting for 7.57% of total imports. Italy continued to strengthen its position in the Ukrainian market, with exports rising by 15.08% to €6.12 million, representing 6.8% of total imports. This growth outpaced the overall market expansion and further consolidated Italy’s presence among Ukraine’s key suppliers of bakery and biscuit products.  Overall, Ukraine’s bakery and biscuit import market in the first seven months of 2026 shows strong expansion and increasing diversification, with regional European suppliers continuing to strengthen their positions amid growing consumer demand. Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands all increased their presence, while Poland further consolidated its leadership in the category. (ICE KIEV)
