UKRAINE’S CAPITAL INVESTMENT RISES 10% TO ₴308B ($7B) DESPITE THE WAR

Capital investment in Ukraine reached ₴307.9B ($7B) in the first half of 2026, up 9.9% from the same period last year despite ongoing wartime risks.The industry attracted the largest amount of capital, receiving ₴121.5B ($2.8B) during the first six months of the year.Agriculture also remains one of Ukraine’s most attractive investment sectors. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries received ₴35B ($800M), while another ₴29.6B ($670M) was invested in wholesale and retail trade.Despite the war and continued Russian attacks, businesses invested ₴26.2B ($600M) in construction.By type of asset, machinery, equipment and inventory accounted for the largest share of investment, attracting approximately ₴111.2B ($2.5B).Another ₴69B ($1.6B) was invested in engineering structures, including the construction, modernization, reconstruction and acquisition of industrial, transport and municipal infrastructure.Commercial real estate also continues to attract capital. Investments in offices, warehouses, retail properties and other non-residential buildings reached ₴35.1B ($800M).Ukraine’s capital investment has demonstrated a strong recovery since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Investment totaled ₴279.6B ($6.4B) in 2022 before increasing 41.4% to ₴395.5B ($9B) in 2023 and another 35.1% to ₴534.4B ($12.1B) in 2024.In 2025, capital investment reached ₴669.3B ($15.2B), up another 25.2% year-on-year.Continued investment growth demonstrates that Ukrainian businesses are still expanding and modernizing assets despite the war.
