Fish processing plant under construction in East KazakhstanKazakhstan has broken ground on a 2,000-tonne-per-year fish processing plant in East Kazakhstan region, the Agriculture Ministry said.The project is being carried out by Kazakh company Zaisan See LLP together with a Polish investor, with investment of up to 6 million euros.The plant will feature a full production cycle — from fish farming (pike, perch and pike-perch) to primary processing, production of chilled and frozen products, storage, packaging and subsequent sales on domestic and foreign markets.The plant is expected to create at least 100 permanent jobs.The first phase is scheduled to come online in August 2027, the ministry said.Future plans include phased expansion of processing capacity and the development of a skilled workforce training system for the industry.
