Kazatomprom wins uranium exploration rights at KyzyltuKazakhstan's national atomic company Kazatomprom has secured a six-year license to explore for uranium at the Kyzyltu site in Kyzylorda region, the company said.Preliminary estimates put the site's uranium resources at about 10,000 tonnes. Geological exploration is planned in the near term to refine the resource estimate and assess the site's potential."Obtaining the uranium exploration license for the Kyzyltu block is another step in implementing our strategy to expand the company's mineral resource base," said Meirzhan Yussupov, CEO of Kazatomprom.The license grants Kazatomprom the exclusive right to explore for uranium for six years.
