Kazakhstan harvests 81.5% of grain area, threshes 18.6 mln tonnesKazakhstan had harvested grain from 81.5%, or 12.7 million hectares, of the harvest area as of September 26, the Agriculture Ministry said.A total of 18.6 million tonnes of grain has been threshed, with average yields of 1.46 tonnes per hectare.Licensed grain receiving facilities have taken in 4.9 million tonnes of the new harvest, 20% more than the 4.1 million tonnes received in the same period last year.Grade 3 grain accounts for the bulk, or 74%. Another 20% is Grade 4 and 6% is Grade 5.Farmers have harvested 2.2 million hectares of oilseeds, threshing 2.2 million tonnes.The harvest also includes 2.9 million tonnes of vegetables, 2.5 million tonnes of potatoes and 2.3 million tonnes of melons.The harvest campaign involves 130,000 tractors, 29,000 combine harvesters, 17,000 reapers and 130,000 other pieces of equipment across the regions.Kazakhstan's 2026 harvest area covers 24.2 million hectares, including 15.6 million hectares of grain and legume crops, 5.2 million hectares of oilseeds and 3 million hectares of fodder crops. Cotton covers 173,600 hectares and sugar beet 23,800 hectares.In 2025, Kazakhstan produced 27 million tonnes of grain, up 2% from the previous year, with yields rising to 1.7 tonnes per hectare from 1.6 tonnes per hectare in 2024.
