FAO, AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH CENTER TEAM UP TO BUILD DROUGHT RESILIENCE IN JORDAN

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Jordan signed a cooperation agreement on Sunday with the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) to launch climate adaptation interventions to combat drought and water scarcity. The agreement, funded by the Government of Japan under the initiative From Scarcity to Sustainability, was signed by FAO Representative in Jordan Thaer Yaseen and NARC Acting Director General Zakaria Musallam. The initiative supports drought-affected farming communities across Ajloun, Jerash, and the Northern Jordan Valley. It focuses on modernizing land and water management, building institutional capacity, and introducing climate-smart farming solutions to boost Jordan’s agricultural sector. (ICE AMMAN)
