PRICES of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) remain stable and manufacturers have also held off from requesting increases amid renewed uncertainties arising from the war in the Middle East, Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said on Monday. “The prices of food are stable and there has yet to be a price increase on basic necessities and prime commodities,” Roque told reporters. She added that the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) had not received any requests for price increases for BNPCs, which include canned fish, processed milk, instant noodles, bread, bottled water, and sanitary products.
