INDONESIA AND US BUSINESS COUNCIL STRENGTHEN TRADE TIES AT G20 MINISTERIAL Summit

Indonesian Minister of Trade Budi Santoso met with the US Chamber of Commerce on the sidelines of the G20 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to enhance bilateral business relations via the Business 20 (B20) forum. Minister Budi presented key opportunities for US investment and partnership, focusing on downstream industries, value-added production, supplier development, renewable energy, and rare earth minerals. He also discussed progress on the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART), expressing hope for its swift implementation to foster integrated supply chains and stronger technology sharing.   Isabelle Icso, Vice President and Executive Director of International Policy at the US Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the proposal and outlined four main B20 priorities: reducing trade policy barriers, modernizing the WTO, waiving digital trade duties, and boosting cross-border investment. Additionally, the US business sector offered capacity-building support and digital payment solutions tailored for Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).  Source: https://www.antaranews.com/berita/5767771/ri-as-perkuat-kerja-sama-dari-hilirisasi-hingga-logam-tanah-jarang (ICE GIACARTA)
