INDONESIA-EU CEPA SIGNING TARGETED THIS YEAR: MINISTER HARTARTO
Indonesia is targeting the signing of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) before the end of 2026, with implementation expected to begin in early 2027. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the agreement will expand market access, increase trade, and strengthen business engagement between Indonesia and the European Union, including with Germany. He described the IEU-CEPA as a key instrument for boosting trade opportunities and investment flows between Indonesia and Europe. The minister also highlighted the growing economic partnership between Indonesia and Germany, which has been reinforced through high-level visits and cooperation in areas such as energy transition, investment, education, and employment. Indonesia sees further opportunities to collaborate with Germany in renewable energy, electric vehicles and batteries, semiconductors, digital infrastructure, sustainable finance, and workforce development. Germany remains one of Indonesia’s key economic partners, with bilateral trade reaching about US$6.11 billion in 2025 and more than 250 German multinational companies operating in Indonesia.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/434038/indonesia-eu-cepa-signing-targeted-this-year-minister-hartarto (ICE GIACARTA)
