This is the country's best result in 10 years," the ministry said Thursday.Kazakhstan ranked 81st in the previous index.Regionally, Kazakhstan placed first among Central Asian countries and second among the 11 economies of Central and South Asia. Among 35 upper-middle-income countries, it ranked 17th.The most notable progress was in innovation outputs. Kazakhstan rose 11 places on the Innovation Outputs sub-index, from 84th to 73rd. On Innovation Inputs, it improved from 75th to 73rd.The 2026 GII results were presented at WIPO headquarters in Geneva as part of a preliminary presentation of the index for permanent representatives of member states, the ministry said.
