First Grasys-manufactured gas filling station opens in AlmatyThe first compressed natural gas (CNG) filling station manufactured by Russian company Grasys has begun operating in Almaty, the company's press service said.The new filling station, called Kok-Kainar and operating under the QazaqGaz brand, is designed to refuel public transport with compressed natural gas. Its design capacity is 4,400 cubic meters of gas per hour.The CNG station is equipped with two block compressor units, each having a capacity of 2,200 cubic meters per hour, gas storage tanks with a total volume of 2,000 liters, a gas drying unit and auxiliary equipment."The CNG project in Kazakhstan provides for creating an extensive network of stations that meet the most modern requirements. Grasys technologies will ensure high-quality fuel for commercial passenger vehicles, an important step in developing the city's environmentally friendly transport system," said Roman Kuvshinov, a Grasys board member and managing partner of OMZ Advanced Technologies Group.Deputy Energy Minister Kairkhan Tutkyshbayev earlier told Interfax-Kazakhstan that five CNG stations are planned for construction in 2026: two in Almaty, and one each in the Taraz, Aktobe and Zhetysu regions. Kazakhstan currently has 26 CNG stations in operation, he said.Grasys is a developer, manufacturer and EPC contractor in air and gas separation and compression, part of Russia’s OMZ Group.
