According to new EICDataStream figures presented at EIC Connect UAE 2026, the UAE is tracking an estimated $210 billion project pipeline across 136 energy developments, with oil and gas dominating capital expenditure—upstream accounts for nearly 40%, downstream 16%, and midstream under 12%. Renewables represent 11% of the pipeline, with 17,980 MW of capacity slated for delivery by 2030, alongside growing focus on hydrogen (9%), power grids, carbon capture, and energy storage. While not all projects have reached final investment decisions—a common distinction across broader GCC clean energy developments—emerging infrastructure opportunities are also expanding in waste-to-energy and high-demand hyperscale data centres.
