IMF UPGRADES INDONESIA’S 2026 GROWTH FORECAST TO 5.1% AMID RISING INFLATION

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised Indonesia’s 2026 economic growth forecast from 5.0 percent to 5.1 percent in its October 2026 World Economic Outlook. The IMF also maintained its projection of 5.1 percent growth for 2027, reflecting expectations of continued economic expansion despite global uncertainties. However, the IMF expects inflation in Indonesia to increase to 3.3 percent in 2026, higher than previously projected, before easing to 2.8 percent in 2027. While Indonesia’s growth outlook has improved slightly, the IMF warned that the global economy faces headwinds, forecasting global growth to slow to 3.1 percent in 2026 before recovering to 3.4 percent in 2027. Global inflation is also expected to remain elevated, reaching 4.7 percent in 2026 before moderating to 4.1 percent the following year.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/7581/markets-and-finance/imf-upgrades-indonesia-s-2026-growth-forecast-to-5-1-amid-rising-inflation (ICE GIACARTA)
