Kazakhstan, Russia launch first pilot road shipment with e-CMR waybillKazakhstan and Russia have launched the first pilot road freight shipment from Astana to Moscow using an electronic consignment note, known as e-CMR, the Kazakh Transport Ministry’s press service said.The shipment is part of a pilot project of the Eurasian Economic Union.“Using e-CMR will cut the cost of processing documents, speed up information exchange among everyone involved in the shipment, give real-time access to cargo status and reduce dependence on paper documents,” the ministry said in a statement.The pilot is meant to test how the electronic note works on the Kazakhstan-Russia route and lay the groundwork for wider digital cooperation in international freight.
