SYRIA LAUNCHES PROJECT TO DIGITIZE BUSINESS REGISTRATION, SIMPLIFY INVESTOR PROCEDURES
A strategic initiative to modernize and digitize business registration across Syria was launched Sunday during an official ceremony at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus, attended by government officials, commercial representatives, and business leaders. Developed through a partnership between the U.S. Department of State and the Syrian Ministry of Industry, Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, in cooperation with Creative Associates International, the project aims to simplify registration procedures for both domestic and foreign companies, archive commercial records digitally, and foster an efficient, transparent investment environment. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Director of Technology and Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Industry and Internal Trade, Muhannad al-Naser, stated that the ministry is focused on bolstering consumer protection systems, managing commercial oversight, and linking central administration services directly with provincial directorates. Al-Naser emphasized that the project marks a significant step toward modernizing public services, boosting institutional performance, and meeting the evolving demands of citizens and the private sector. He added that establishing an integrated digital infrastructure will substantially reduce registration processing times, optimize record retrieval, and provide reliable, transparent services to entrepreneurs and global investors seeking opportunities in Syria.
