INDONESIA DEVELOPS INTEGRATED POULTRY INDUSTRY TO BOOST FOOD SECURITY

Indonesia is developing an integrated poultry industry as a new model for modern livestock farming aimed at strengthening national food security and improving the competitiveness of the poultry sector. The initiative emphasizes advanced technology, operational efficiency, clean and modern facilities, and professional management. Dony Oskaria, Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) and COO of Danantara Indonesia, said the project is intended to set a new benchmark for Indonesia’s poultry industry, with a strong focus on business integration, modernization, and good governance. From an investment perspective, Danantara Indonesia is prioritizing projects that demonstrate strong business viability and attractive returns rather than focusing solely on investment size. One key facility under the Integrated Poultry Downstreaming Project, located in Malang, East Java, is scheduled for completion in May 2027 and is expected to be inaugurated by the President. The broader initiative seeks to create a more competitive and integrated poultry ecosystem that enhances domestic protein supply, supports food security, and generates greater value for Indonesia’s economy.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2873998/indonesia-develops-integrated-poultry-industry-to-boost-food-security (ICE GIACARTA)
